I have been wondering if there is really any achievements worth celebrating since the day we got our independence from Britain. Looking back, I dont think that, as a country of 50 years old, with all the resources at our disposal, that we have achieved anything we can point to and beat our chest in celebration. Going by the current happenings in the polity, we are likely to be worse off in the next 50 years than we are today. Have you noticed how many times the govt awards the contract for a project b4 it is executed? e.g. the contract for the construction of the 2nd River Niger Bridge has been awarded and mobilized 7 times in the last 12 years. Nothing on ground yet to suggest the work will soon commence. NIGERIA GO SURVIVE!
